Pottery

This latest addition to our Calvin Center Program has been proven very successful over the summer of 2002. Campers were crowding the pottery shop every day.

The activity can be scheduled year round. This is the program where everybody will have to get their hands dirty in order to participate. Learn how to make a simple hand formed bowl, or let imagination take over.

Express Yourself

Find out what it really means to be one of God’s creations and how uniquely each one of us is made by His hands.

Bring home a lasting memory of Calvin Center, imprint your creation with leaves, seeds and other items found in our wonderful natural setting.

The program can be set up to fit your schedule. For instance: A two hour session for up to 10 people will give everybody enough time to make 2 or 3 items.
If you stay at Calvin Center for several days you will likely be able to glaze your items and take them home. In case your stay is shorter we can arrange to ship items to you or you can pick them up.

We are equipped with a drying cabinet and are very flexible in making this experience work for you.

While being taught the basics of pottery a group of up to eight people will meet once a week for seven consecutive weeks to pray, share, and build their faith. Each meeting starts with a devotion followed by clay instruction time during which there is ample opportunity for sharing.
