Live in a cabin with six or seven other campers and a counselor. A cabin of boys is paired with a cabin of girls, and together these two cabins make up a family group. Throughout the week family groups participate in activities together – canoeing, climbing wall, archery, the ropes course, arts & crafts, hiking to the Secret Tree, Bible study, pottery, team challenge course, and more!!!
Are you interested in an adventure camps, horseback riding, music, art, drama, and dance we have special camps just for you. In these specialty camps you will have the chance to develop a specific set of skills of the course of your time at camp while you still participate in all those other great camp activities.
Bible Study and Worship are a central part of the Summer Camp program at Calvin Center. Each day campers will focus on a theme in Bible Study and worship, led by a chaplain, which is then reinforced throughout the day in other activities.
Our Crafts director provides exciting hands-on projects daily that camper will be able to take home at the end of the week.
Our staff is an important part of providing you with a fun, safe, and faith-filled camp experience. All summer staff members are carefully screened and extensively trained to meet the needs of your camper. Your care is of the utmost importance to all staff. Certified lifeguards watch over you during Waterfront activities such as swimming and canoeing, and Calvin Center provides certified and trained staff for all adventure and equestrian activities.
In the past few years Calvin Center has spent considerable time and capital building and renovating our accommodations. This has enabled us to offer fully heated and air conditioned housing. Every cabin has its own internal bathroom and a number of cabins have disability access. Each cabin sleeps no more than 8 people and meet ACA regulation. This allows us to have an 8:1 ratio of campers to counselor. Our newest cabins are less than five years old.
Tiered Pricing – Why 3 Prices?
Realizing that families have different abilities to pay, Calvin Center has instituted a voluntary three-tier fee program. You may choose the tier that is most suitable for your family. It is a ‘free will’ system; you pick the level that is comfortable and affordable for your family. All campers receive the same experience no matter what they pay.
Tier I is our historically subsidized rate and does not reflect the true cost of operating summer camp programs.
Tier II is our partially subsidized fee for those who can pay a little more but still can not afford the actual cost of camp.
Tier III more closely accounts for the true costs of camp including wear and tear of building and grounds.
• To share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
• To help lay the foundation for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• To have fun in safe, exciting, and inclusive activities.
• To provide Christ centered programs in the outdoors for all God’s children regardless of income.
Again, this program is voluntary and in no way influences the experience children receive, yet it offers the opportunity for families to take an active role in supporting the true cost of their child’s camp experience.
Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to camp, will receive a full refund minus a $75.00 cancellation fee. No refund will be given for cancellations made within 14 days of the start date of the camp.
